Name: Duchess Breed(s): Pit Bull mix Age: About 1 year Weight: About 75 lbs Reason for being at shelter: Owner surrender -- escape artist General info: Duchess is SUCH a sweet and happy girl!!! She can get a little bit nervous with new people -- however, tasty treats help to win her over! Duchess can be intimidating in her kennel due to her large size and big bark, but she's just trying to get people notice her... Outside of her kennel, Duchess is a sweet and playful girl, just looking to have fun. She gets along well with some dogs (mostly male dogs that are the same size as her), but we are not sure she would be good with cats. Due to her size, we think it would be best if Duchess not live with small kids, but teenaged kids should be OK. Right now Duchess is attending a training course at Olympic Corrections Center. She is paired up with an offender and will be learning basic obedience and leash manners. She will also be socializing with lots of people out there. Duchess should be back to the shelter and available for adoption around the beginning of September! Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120
